Jamie Dolinko
Biography
Born in 1960, Jamie Dolinko currently lives in Vancouver, Canada. After studying photography in Amsterdam at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, she graduated from the Ontario College of Art in 1990. In 1992 she received her M.F.A. in photography from the School of Visual Arts in New York.
Her work has been shown throughout Europe and North America at galleries and
museums including The New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York, Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions (LACE), the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art, Arti et Amicitae in Amsterdam, and the Velan Centro D’arte Contemporanea in Torino.
Recent exhibitions include ‘High-rise Studies’ at Gallery 44, Presentation House’s ‘Giclee Project’, ‘After Photography’ curated by Roy Arden, ‘Four Drawings, Four Elements’ with Jason McLean, ‘Ciao di Vancouver’ in Italy, and The Infra-structural Image at the Beelkin Satellite.
Dolinko’s photographs are the subjects of a short documentary film, “Fragments of Proximity” by Rafi Spivak, for The National Film Board of Canada which was recently broadcast on CBC Zed, and her work has been seen in Canadian Art, The Globe and Mail, The National Post, The Village Voice, and The New York Times.
