C'NT Programming- Noel Bégin and Los Greasy Bombers
Los Greasy Bombers
play both types of music - rock AND roll! Having wallowed in the seething miasma of pop - and, okay, some not-so-pop music all of their lives, Los Bombers unique renditions of folk music of the late 20th Century ooze authenticity through a stubborn refusal to "smooth out the rough edges" or turn down the volume. The bastard love child resulting from a chance meeting between members of Calgary alt-rock combo, The Brenda Vaqueros, and half of late-90's surf & turf favorites, Curse of Horseflesh, the rest is most assuredly not history here in this city where music lives. But they honestly don't care - for them, playing "rawk" is its own reward. Equally comfortable covering The Ramones or Peter, Paul and Mary, Los Greasy Bombers are iconoclastic, caustic and elastic.
